Townhead Steading Holiday Cottages

Two self catering cottages, converted from original stone steadings to provide beautifully appointed four star accommodation. Designed primarily for couples or those with small children, each cottage has one bedroom, en-suite bathroom, living room and kitchen area.

The cottages enjoy grounds and gardens of almost one acre with beautiful views of the surrounding hills. An 18 hole golf course and restaurant, a pretty glen and even a castle are within a short walk. A further mile leads to two pubs and a restaurant, all serving excellent food, in the village of Denholm. Townhead Steading is set within the rolling Borders countryside on the edge of the tiny conservation village of Minto, close to Melrose and Jedburgh.The cottages border the Minto Hills and the Minto Golf Club. Edinburgh is just over an hour away

The tranquility and comfort of the cottages ensures that guests enjoy a relaxing holiday, surrounded by numerous opportunities for leisure activities, including walking, cycling, golf, fishing and sight seeing. Our guests are assured of a warm welcome after their journey with tea and fresh scones.

Well behaved pets are welcome.

The cottages, built of local sandstone, originally formed part of a farm steading dating back to the late 1700's. The cottages were completely refurbished during 2002 to provide excellent holiday accommodation with the benefits of central heating and double glazing whilst retaining a cosy and traditional character through extensive use of solid pine. Coombed ceilings with velux windows provide a bright and airy ambience.

Both cottages are equipped, furnished and maintained to a high standard providing everything required for a relaxing holiday in this beautiful and peaceful area of Scotland.

Stable Cottage provides a double bedroom, en-suite bathroom, sitting room and kitchen area. The property overlooks a pretty walled garden and has gardens to the front with views of the golf course. Facilities: Single storey cottage with parking at the door. Central heating, bed linen and towels included. Pets welcome. Sitting room equipped with TV, VCR, mini high fi. and sofa bed for an additional guest. Kitchen equipped with dishwasher, fridge, microwave. Shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Bedroom with queen size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower over bath.

Granary Cottage provides a double bedroom, en-suite bathroom, sitting room and kitchen area. The property overlooks the Minto Hills and has a garden to the front with views of the golf course. Facilities: Cottage accessed by external stone steps from parking area alongside. Central heating, bed linen and towels included. Pets welcome. Sitting room equipped with TV, VCR, mini high fi. Kitchen equipped with dishwasher, fridge and microwave. Shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Bedroom with queen size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower over bath.
