Tarnside Lodges are set on a working farm and our visitors are very welcome to look around the stables and meet the inmates! The Lodges are about 3 miles from Brampton and 1 mile from the Station, with superb views over Talkin Tarn, where you can sail, row, fish, walk or just enjoy the beautiful countryside. A local private swimming pool is also available for use by appointment.

The spacious lounge has a log burning stove, colour FreeView TV, CD & Radio and has wonderful views over the tarn - an ideal place to relax and unwind. The kitchen is equipped with every modern convenience and the dining area has french doors leading onto the patio. A feature spiral staircase leads to the double bedroom, whilst the second bedroom is on the ground floor. Both bedrooms are beautifully appointed.

Prices range from £150 to £550 and include electricity,
linen and logs for the log-burner.

Using your Tarnside Lodge as a base, you can take day trips to the RSPB
Geltsdale Reserve, Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall, the Scottish Borders, the Lake
District and more locally the Eden Valley and North Pennine areas. The Gretna Gateway Outlet Centre is only 20 minutes away by car. The Cumbrian Antiques Centre in Brampton is a wonderful way of shopping for antiques within a unique surrounding.

If you want a totally stress free holiday/break, the local walks around Tarnside are well worth experiencing.

We breed and train racehorses on the farm, so come and watch them being trained by Maurice Barnes, who rode Rubstic to victory in the 1979 Grand National.

There are a number of good local eateries including the Blacksmith's Arms and the Hare & Hounds, both in Talkin. Whilst relaxing at Tarnside, why not enjoy a body and beauty treatment at Armonizza! If you prefer a quick and easy meal, we recommend the Codfather Fish & Chip Shop in Brampton or choose from Indian or Chinese - take your pick. For an excellent breakfast, try our free-range eggs. For those wishing to have a drink at the Pub, there is a local taxi service!

You can bring your pets to Tarnside, they'll love it. (A maximum of 2 well behaved dogs please!)
