In an area steeped in history with cosy countryside charm, Newburgh House makes the ideal stop off place in which to make your stay. Colin & Suzy Bell welcome you to Newburgh house, which lies just outside the Yorkshire village of Coxwold, situated alongside the lake, teaming with wildlife and adjacent to Newburgh Priory. During your stay all of your needs are considered, making for a warm and friendly atmosphere as you relax and enjoy this beautiful Georgian home. Entering through the long narrow hallway, you will see that Newburgh House has been restored to a very high standard. Restoration took place during 2001. Time has been taken to ensure all features are in keeping with the original, complete with accompanying décor in a period style. Co-ordinating soft furnishings give the finishing touches and style that you would expect at Newburgh.

Accommodation:
Three substantial double bedrooms at first floor level, all with delightful views over the grounds.

Bedroom 1: A twin room bright and airey with original features. Private bathroom.

Bedrooms 2 and 3: Double bedrooms with ensuite facilities. One with an exceptionally
large en suite bathroom with separate shower cubicle. Period bedside lights giving

Food:
A substantial breakfast from an extensive varied breakfast menu is served in the
breakfast room with period furnishings overlooking the large rear garden.

Optional evening dinner is served in the cosy dining room after which you can
unwind in the large sitting room/library with open fire. Then wind you way upstairs
at the end of the day knowing that your stay at Newburgh House will be a good one.

Places of interest:
Places of interest include: Newburgh Priory, Shandy Hall, Byland, Rievaulx and Fountains Abbey, Castle Howard, Nunnington, Beningbrough and Newby Halls. All are within a 20 mile radius as are the market towns of Helmsley, Thirsk and Easingwold. York is also close at hand for shopping and sight seeing. The East Coast resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay where images of smugglers abound are a short hop away. En route you can drive over the brooding North Yorkshire Moors, home of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, used on the TV programme Heartbeat and in the film "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone". There are a variety of local pubs and restaurants as well as our own dining facilities.
