Inverfiddich Lodge is a comfortable and recently modernised wooden
Fishing Lodge on the banks of the River Spey. It is set on the edge of the village
of Craigellachie and within 4 acres of private grounds and gardens all surrounded
by the world famous River Spey and the estuary of the River Fiddich.
Accomodation..
The Lodge was fully modernised using triple glazing and electric panel heating.
The lodge comprises of one double bedroom with en suite showeroom with walk in shower,
a further single bed can be provided if needed. A spacious open plan lounge/kitchen/diner
looking directly onto the River Spey and the grounds of Inverfiddich House. Fully fitted Ikea
kitchen with double oven and hob with microwave and all your modern
conveniences. Sky T.V. with DVD player.
Inverfiddich Lodge is a quiet retreat and a haven for wildlife including otters, red squirrels, roe deer and over 50 bird species, guests are welcome to use the spacious grounds of the house with riverside walks along the River Spey and River Fiddich. Please note that certain conditions apply during the fishing season. Find a quiet bench and let the world go by or you can even retreat to our large poly tunnels in wet weather!
Activities..
Craigellachie is in the heart of Speyside, famous for it’s whisky and distilleries. Within a 10 mile radius there are 18 distilleries with visitor centres for tours and shops of the best whisky’s available in the world and the Craigellachie Cooperage will let you watch the coopers making whisky barrels. Telfords Bridge is a landmark on the river and castles, golfing, riding and fishing are all nearby with Ben Aigan mountain cross trails just minutes away. The Speyside Way with walks and cycling is right on our doorstep. Further afield are the popular ski slopes of the Lecht and Cairngorm at Aviemore.
Pubs / Hotels..
The well known Fiddichside Inn is just across from our drive and is our nearest neighbour! At the further end of the village is the 4star Craigellachie Hotel with a bar dedicated to over 500 whiskies! The Highlander Inn serves excellent food all day with various cask beers on tap. Within a few miles you will find excellent eateries at The Auld Mill and the Hotel at Archiestown. Aberlour boasts various fine places to eat at The Dowans Hotel and the Aberlour Hotel. There is also at least 4 coffee shops available. Dufftown’s famous distillery town has the delightful La Faisanderie and Tannoch Brae restaurants and most of the small hotels will serve food all day.
Provisions..
Craigellachie Filling Station will provide you with most day to day provisions and the Speyside Cooperage has an excellent café and gift shop whilst Aberlour and Dufftown both have Co-ops and smaller stores available. There is a particularly good Delicatessen in Aberlour along with the world famous Walkers Shortbread shops and factory outlets. Elgin and Keith both have an assortment of Tesco and Asda sized stores. You are only a short drive away to Baxters of Fochabers famous for it’s soups and jams and some of Scotland’s high quality retail shops and visitor centres.
