Appletree Cottage - Shropshire
Appletree Cottage in Llanymynech, Shropshire, is a beautiful 18th century
farmer's cottage with a wealth of original features, and decorated to the highest
standards. The cottage has two bedrooms which sleeps up to four people.
Our "cosy retreat" offers warm and comfortable accommodation throughout the year.
The beautiful handmade kitchen diner really is the focal point of the cottage. Fully equipped with oven, hob, refridgerator, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, table and chairs you'll find yourselves spending a lot of time here! The lounge with its log burner, television and stereo system is the place to wind down after the day's activities. The fully appointed bathroom has a brand new Victorian style suite comprising a hand basin, WC, bath and radiator with heated towel rail. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms with stunning views of Llanymynech Rock.
Outside there is a well-stocked garden to the front of the cottage. You can relax on
the bench and enjoy the garden, or pass the time of day with the friendly locals. To
the rear of the cottage is an off-road parking space and a raised terrace
with BBQ for those summer nights!
Llanymynech is an attractive village half in England and half in Wales, with beautiful views over Llanymynech Rock. The village boasts three great pubs, two in England and one in Wales. In addition there are Indian and Chinese takeaways within walking distance. Golfers will be amazed at the views from the Llanymynech golf course where a young Ian Woosnam learnt his game. Walkers will find this an ideal centre with Offa's Dyke running close by.

Llanymynech Golf Club - 0.5 mile Golfers will be amazed at the views and quality of the Llanymynech golf course built on top of Llanymynech rock. This superb course, known locally as "The Hill", was where Ian Woosnam learned his game. The Golf club is on the ridge half a mile above the cottage. Offa's Dyke - 1 mile The cottage is one mile from Offa's Dyke walkway which is a fortified barrier running from North Wales to South Wales Built in 8th Century by King Offa of Wales. Shrewsbury - 15 miles Shrewsbury town centre boasts a wealth of timber-framed black & white buildings, steep narrow streets and alleyways. This fascinating town contains 600 listed buildings including the Castle, now a regimental museum and the world-famous Shrewsbury Abbey, home of the fictional Brother Cadfael. Shoppers will love the fashionable designer shops, crafts, furniture, period home, antiques and wine to mention but a few. Llangollen - 15 miles A real favourite of ours, with horse drawn canal boats and an adventure centre with White water rafting and Rock climbing. Llangollen nestles within the beautiful Dee Valley in the North East of Wales. It is a town of varied parts, with plenty to interest the most discerning of visitors. Chester - 20 miles The Old Roman town of Chester is just 20 miles away. Whether it's shopping, sightseeing, history, a day at the races or a visit to the zoo, Chester is well worth a visit.
